What René sees

I, René, make DayBlock on my own. To know whether DayBlock helps, I look at a few numbers. Here is exactly which ones: only totals across everyone, never a single person.

What I see

  • How many accounts there are

The number of all accounts, how many confirmed their email address and how many join each week. Test accounts from my automated tests are not counted.

  • When the newest account was created

Only the time and the tier (trial, beta, subscription) – not who it is.

Source: Creation date and tier of the account
  • How many have a subscription

Number per tier: trial, beta, monthly, yearly, founding member, no subscription.

  • What DayBlock earns

Only once payments run through Paddle – then as a total, never per person.

  • How long people stay

How many were active in the last 7 and 30 days, how many are still here after 7, 30 and 90 days, and after how many days deleted accounts left.

Source: Day of last use (no time of day) and an anonymous counter on deletion
  • Where website visits come from

Totals per source such as “search engine”, “social media” or “direct” – not where you came from.

Source: One anonymous ping when the website first loads
  • How people heard about DayBlock

Totals of the optional answer when signing up, per week – never stored with your account.

Source: Optional question when signing up
  • What is read in the magazine

Views per article, how long people read on average and how many reach the end.

Source: One anonymous ping when leaving an article

What I don’t see

  • Your entries, notes, journal, mood and habits – they are encrypted on your device.
  • Your email address in the overview – not even for the newest account.
  • Your IP address or an identifier of your device.
  • Which articles you read and for how long.
  • Where you came from and what you answered to “How did you hear about DayBlock?”.
  • When exactly you use DayBlock – only the day of last use, no time of day.

How counting works

  • No cookies and nothing stored in your browser.
  • No IP address, no device identifier, no third parties.
  • If your browser sends “Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track”, nothing is sent at all.
  • Only totals per day or week are stored.
